I started this page for another blog just before the 2019 Ward 9 Alderman election. The candidates you see here were on the ballot for the February 26, 2019 municipal elections. The 2015 page you see here was a lot more comprehensive than this page unfortunately.
The graphic to your right-hand side represents the redrawn since 2015 map of Ward 9.
We recommend a subscription to The Daily Line for update to date information on not only the elections for Chicago City Council. Hopefully you'll use their services to follow the race for Mayor Chicago also.
Below are the results of the February 26, 2019 election for Ward 9 Alderman with 11,423 votes cast incumbent Ald. Anthony Beale was re-elected. Tally is according to the results from the Chicago Board of Elections.
- Anthony A. Beale (i) - 6,773 (59.29%)
- Cleopatra Watson - 2,949 (25.82%0
- Paul Collins - 938 (8.21%)
- Essie Hall - 763 (6.68%)
These candidates are listed in order of how they finished at the February 26, elections.
This page has been written over a year since last years municipal elections where the city also considered who they wanted as their next mayor since Rahm Emanuel didn't run for a third term. That mayoral election went to a runoff on April 2, 2019 with Lori Lightfoot defeating County Board President Toni Preckwinkle for that office.
In 2015 I listed the ballot position of each candidate along with any social media or campaign websites they had during that campaign. Since I didn't really keep a great track of this last year, I'm thinking many of these social media and websites are either inactive or deleted.
If I can find any information on ballot positions during that past election I will be sharing those at a later time.
