Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, November 1. Clocks turn back one hour — so most of us gain an extra hour of sleep.
Phones and computers usually update on their own. Check ovens, car clocks, and any other manual ones before bed.
After the change, sunsets arrive much earlier. By Sunday, Chicago’s sunset is around 4:44 p.m., with evenings darkening quickly.
Most people adjust fine to the fall change (unlike the spring jump forward). Still, earlier darkness can throw off routines for a few days. Getting morning light and keeping a steady bedtime helps.
Set your clocks tonight. Standard time stays in place until March 14, 2027.
